  2. We will contact you to set a meeting for an hour on Zoom. We will talk about who we are, how you will observe our one-on-one virtual classes, and how you’ll get matched with a learner to teach English.

  3. At the meeting, you’ll pick one of our TEFL practicum options to complete your hours*

Option A: Observe 2 classes, teach 18 classes = free of charge

    Option B: Observe 10 classes, teach 10 classes = $50 fee

    Option C: Observe 14 classes, teach 6 classes = $100 fee

*If your practicum requires a different number of hours, we can still work with you to fulfill your requirements.

Observing the other teachers during my practicum was very helpful. I have enjoyed learning from all the other teachers and the students are fantastic. I have enjoyed the feedback from Ramin so much. Also the organization is very organized which makes teaching easy. It is very easy to get started. I found the process of shadowing to be very straightforward and the teachers are friendly. Getting matched was easy too. I enjoyed meeting the students. It's a great organization that brings people together.

What I have learned during my time at Torus is that people have a wide range of reasons to want to learn a language. The inherent reason has a lot to do with how classes should be constructed and directed as a good teacher. I would recommend Torus because I was literally helping people better their lives while achieving my own practicum goals. I was supported by Ramin, tips, insights etc. The team is responsive and helpful, there is not one complaint I could think of. Everything was linear and straightforward. I am grateful to have had the experience.

While being a part of Torus, my experience of learning new information, talking to new people, exchanging stories, and sharing knowledge never stopped. There is one thing that I value in Torus, and it is communication.

Since the first time I connected with Torus about practicum opportunities, I have been provided with all the necessary information about the organization, rules, and responsibilities during practicum. Even when I had questions or doubts about anything, I could always send a message to Ramin and receive an answer promptly, which made my experience with Torus easy and enjoyable.

I would recommend the volunteer program at Torus, as it is a friendly and supportive environment of people united by the goal of learning and exchanging their experiences with others. My experience with observing classes and getting matched with a learner was positive.

Observations helped prepare me for my future classes, learn more about the lesson plan, and learn how to establish communication with a learner. Additionally, the application form and time availability made it easy to get matched with my learner.

Torus helped me to grow both professionally and personally. It also made me realize that it is possible to make this big world a bit smaller by connecting with new people from different parts of the world with the same values and goals.

Working with Torus for my practicum hours has been a great experience. Ramin has been so helpful throughout the entire process with providing class schedules for shadowable classes and giving me the information I need to get in contact with teachers I want to shadow. The teachers are so friendly. Many of them have taken the time to speak to me about where they find the materials they use for their classes. They've provided links for websites and names of books that have been helpful to them as recommendations. Overall, this was a great experience.
